Like all of you we are dealing with the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic. At Community Living Interlake we have been working hard over the past 15 months to keep all of our staff and the people we support, safe. I’m very happy to report that all of the staff have been provided with the opportunity to get vaccinated. As well, 95% of the people who live in our houses or who we support in other ways have chosen to be vaccinated and most have received their second vaccination.
Until at least June 11 I have made the decision to close our day program and to have as many staff as possible work from home. The news lately, especially regarding people who are admitted to ICU has not been good. We want to work with the province of Manitoba to keep all of our staff and clients safe and healthy.
Something Beautiful, both the store and café, are also affected. Again, until at least June 11 we are reducing our staff to minimal levels. There will be no clients or job coaches working in the store or gift shop during that time. We do remain open, under very tight restrictions including pickup of food at the café and two customers at a time in the store. Please do shop or order on line. Thanks to all of you who have supported us over the last year. Our goal is to keep operating so that when restrictions are lifted our clients will have jobs to come back to.
Again, to all of you, please stay safe. Please get vaccinated and thank you for your ongoing support.
